The MILESTONE kick-off meeting organized the first month of the project, the period for the 12th -14th June, 2024, to bring together the beneficiaries, the scientific and other participants in the organisation of the project and the External Advisory Board (EAB) members to organise the schedule of the activities (i.e., SEVs, TSs, WSs), discuss the research activities, develop synergies, and give each partner the opportunity to present its main research objectives, achievements, and infrastructure. A round table with the administrative staff of the beneficiaries was also took place to discuss the Consortium Agreement, early afternoon on 12th of June, before the official start of the meeting.

During this meeting the all partners will present their main objectives and available research and management tools, for the success of the MILESTONE project. The presentation of each partners research and grant management capacities were presented by members of the Administration and Financial departments of each beneficiary. Specifically, the AMU fund raising and management structure was presented by the staff of PROTISVALOR, the AMU spin-off (participate as an affiliated Entity) and will assist AMU in project management
The three EAB Members, Prof. Frances Separovic (The University of Melbourne, Australia), Prof. Michael Sattler (TUM, Munich, Germany), and Dr. Audrey Richard, Director of Operations and Scientific Strategy at EU RI ERINHA), have also presented their research activities and the EU RI landscape which may offer synergy opportunities with MILESTONE beneficiaries.
During the last day of the meeting the participants took a tour of the labs and the facilities located at the Department of Pharmacy and Medicine at UPAT and discussed with the scientist of the UPAT groups.
